Your practical presenting toolkit
Presenting with Impact aims to give you the confidence to represent yourself, your team, your organisation. The good news is that you already know what good presentation looks and sounds like - you've seen it on screen since you can remember. Your task is simply to activate that.
You'll learn how to put structure around your idea, and to formulate a clear line of argument. You'll learn how to establish your credibility as a speaker, and bring engagement into your topic with your body language and tone of voice. You'll learn to create effective visuals to keep your audience focused, interested and receptive to your ideas. Finally, you'll get strong ideas about how to deal with questions.
How will you learn this? Practice, Practice, Practice. You'll start with impromptu speaking and finish by creating a 7-minute presentation of your choice. You'll receive detailed feedback from me as the trainer, and also from your peers in the training room. This is a fun training, but it will also give you the sense of what it is like to stand up in front of your peers. You'll get tips on the preparation for that and the sense that it is not just possible, but possible to do very well.

My presentation training tries to mirror two things that you'll see in the feedback I often receive: structure and engagement.
I like structure, order, logic, precision and clearly-thought-out ideas put in a way which people can easily understand.
And I try as much as I can to engage my training rooms with my energy, humour, visuals, enthusiasm for the subject. I use my body language and tone of voice to keep the energy of the room high. These are the skills I aim to help participants develop.
I now have 28 years of training and facilitation experience and I've learnt a lot in that time about engaging audiences. I also learnt a lot from Toastmasters International - a great way to learn public speaking. I've trained presentation skills for over a decade, including being the lead trainer and designer for the presentation part of CTP, a flagship EU (EuSA) career development program.
